Shah Rukh Khan's 'Ra.One' has controversial plotline

The first Indian sci-fi movie, "Ra.One" is based on gaming, bad guys and super heroes. Shah Rukh Khan, who is the leading actor of the movie, is playing the role of a gaming freak who falls in love with Kareena Kapoor.

Unfortunatley, now when the movie is close to completion, it turns out that Ajay Devgan's home production "Toonpur Ka Superhero" featuring Ajay with Kajol has almost the same plotline.

In the storyline of "Toonpur ka Superhero", Ajay has a young son, who wants his dad to be a superhero. In order to prove himself a hero in his son's eyes, Ajay decides to vanish into the boy's favorite cartoon world.

In "RA.One" too, Shah Rukh plays a married man with a son, who is of the same age as the child in "Toonpur Ka Superhero" who thinks his dad is too wimpy to be a true hero. Therefore, to prove himself a hero, Shah Rukh Khan enters into a video game called "RA.One".

Now the question is, how come two very different famous actors end up making movies having almost the same plotline as the other. Ajay Devgan believes he started working on his "Toonpur ka Superhero" way before Shah Rukh decided to start "RA.One"; therefore, his story is the original one.

"I think the working-class dad wanting to be a superhero in his son's eyes is a format that works universally. We don't know who thought of it first, Ajay or Shah Rukh. But we are only hoping that the audience will forget Toonpur Ka Superhero by the time RA.One shows up in theatres," says a source.

Shah Rukh Khan is now trying to work on the special effects of the movie to make it look different from "Toonpur ka Superhero". "First Shah Rukh had to reckon with similarities to Rajnikanth's 'Robot'. Now there's the similarities with Toonpur which have come from nowhere. He has now asked his director Anubhav Sinha to add more special effects to the project," says another source.

"RA.One" will be Bollywood's most expensive movie.
