The ‘write’ stuff

Like numerous Indian authors, whose books form the scripts of popular Bollywood movies, Anuja Chauhan is no different. Except for the fact that the film rights for her debut novel, The Zoya Factor, have been bought by Shahrukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment.

"I have done many Pepsi commercials with Shahrukh Khan over the years," she says, adding, "Once, he told me light heartedly that if I ever wrote a book, he would buy the rights." It was only later she found out that SRK was serious. Now, she has no doubts that the Badshah will do justice to her story and it will be a huge hit.

Anuja, though born in Meerut is happily settled in Mumbai. She has a local connection through Niret Alva, her husband, son of politician Margaret Alva with whom she has two daughters, Niharika Margaret, Nanauttara, and one son, Daivik John.
