MNIK: Strikes a chord

I enjoy Karan Johar's films as they are entertaining and emotional but MNIK is different as it conveys a delicate message beautifully. The controversy before the release of the film surrounding SRK and protests by Shiv Sena indirectly helped its prospects and the message, the film conveys. The beautiful film proves without doubt that Karan Johar is one of the finest directors and SRK one of the finest actors. I have seen three films
on terrorism post 9/11 namely New York, Kurbaan and MNIK with different perspectives. While New York and Kurbaan dealt with darker side of terrorism, it didn't touch the brighter side of humanity. MNIK deals with both. Essentially it conveys the message of love and humanity in the world of violence, fear and hatred through Rizwan Khan. The film touches the heart and leaves the audience spellbound. Certainly such films are above entertainment that inspires people to impress upon good rather than on evil. This film will encourage those producers who wish to make films with a noble purpose.
