King Khan has won the battle. Bangalore movie-goers walking out of multiplex halls and showering praises on `My Name is Khan' (MNIK)
MNIK, which stirred up a controversy in Maharashtra and elsewhere, drew no such flak in Bangalore. Shah Rukh Khan surely won the hearts of viewers here.
In a twist, the crowd seemed to be thanking Shiv Sena for making people more than eager to watch the movie. A Khan fan said the film was so touching that Shiv Sena members should watch it instead of creating trouble.
Sonal Maheshwari, another fan, said, "I love SRK movies. His performance in MNIK is mind-blowing. His act as an Asperger's syndrome patient deserves standing applause."
According to Roshni Safir, a homemaker, the rocking `jodi' of Bollywood is back with a bang. "It will be on the top slot in the box office. Kajol is one of the best actresses in the industry, and after seeing SRK's performance in MNIK, I feel no one can take away King Khan's throne," she added.
Shabaz Mumtaz and Abid Khan, students of CMR Group of Institutions, said, "Our only concern was the ticket being priced at Rs 350. But after watching MNIK, we were more than satisfied."
Nadeem Ahmed, an accountant, said every person should watch MNIK. "It's a touching movie. I am disappointed such a brilliant film has been dragged into controversy. Shiv Sena should watch it; they will learn a lot from it," Ahmed added.
Satish M R, duty manager, Inox, said the movie had a great opening for all nine shows. "We even had a full-house board put up and we had no security concerns," Satish added.
According to Bijan Bose, manager in-charge, PVR, the problems in Maharashtra didn't affect the Bangalore crowd. "The movie had a fantastic opening and the first day was full house," he added.
