"This one is bigger than all the films Karan has made or produced before. He is a great director because he keeps us happy on the sets, he jokes around while he makes us work. MNIK wouldn't have been without all the production assistants, who did the running around behind the scenes," said SRK
"Khan (the film), according to me, is one of the nicest film stories I have participated in. I can take the liberty to say that I have participated in some of the best love stories in Bollywood. This film is a beautiful journey of two lovers. One is a physical journey; the other is an emotional journey to find love in spite of all the obstacles. At the end, like all love stories, these lovers cross all obstacles to come together. It is a very joyful film about hope, love and positivity. Karan has made a very different kind of cinema while retaining the Karan Johar-ishness that he is known for. I truly believe that Indian cinema and Kajol and my careers would have been incomplete without Karan's cinema," SRK beamed with pride.
Rizwan Khan suffers from Asperger's Syndrome, a type of autism. Talking about preparing for his role, he said, "When I was doing theatre is Delhi, I interacted with children with special abilities. I drew from those experiences. I had also read a book called The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Mark Haddon, so that helped me too. Also, Karan and Shibani have researched the film immensely well, and he has directed this film in a way different from the previous films we have made before. Usually people associate me with caricatures and overacting, I don't know why, but MNIK, I can promise, is a touching and straight-from-the-heart film and performance," concluded SRK.
