Mahesh Bhatt's daughter in KJo's next

Two days ago, Mumbai Mirror reported about David Dhawan's son Varun's Bollywood launch. And might we add, the boy is rather good-looking! Well, it gets better.

Mahesh Bhatt
and Soni Razdan's younger daughter Alia is all set to make her Bollywood debut too and guess who she'll make it with? That's right: Varun. They will star in Karan Johar's untitled next with another newcomer Siddharth Malhotra and KJo will co-produce the film with Shah Rukh Khan. So, it doesn't get bigger than this.

While Bhatt's elder daughter Shaheen took to writing, 17-year old Alia was nursing aspirations to become an actress for the past two years. "But Bhatt's production house ,Vishesh Films, kept her under wraps and she was hardly seen at Bollywood functions," reveals a source close to the film.

Meanwhile, KJo has apparently wanted to make a film with newcomers for long now. The source adds, "After signing Varun and Siddharth, Karan was looking for a third promising newcomer, until he found talent in Alia and called her for auditions."

A few days ago, Karan auditioned Alia, first individually and then with Varun. Adds the source, "The couple's chemistry was unbeatable. Alia was also auditioned with Siddharth because Karan is making this film with a love triangle."

Grapevine has it that Shah Rukh will also play a significant cameo in the film. But considering it's a KJo film, we are not surprised. Karan has always maintained that he cannot direct a film without casting Shah Rukh in it. But on this film, Karan chose not to divulge any information.

When contacted, the usually frank and forthcoming Mahesh Bhatt said, "This is something that only the production houses concerned can answer. I cannot trespass into their domain. As far as I am concerned, Alia is still studying." Not her course books for sure!
