He plays Ra.One in Shah Rukh Khan's much awaited home production of the same name and Arjun Rampal says that the superhero flick is King Khan's most ambitious project ever and he is going all out for it.
Shah Rukh plays the role of G.One in the superhero flick which is being touted as Bollywood's most expensive film and his passion is the driving force behind it, said Rampal.
"Shah Rukh is leaving no stone unturned for Ra. One. I have worked with Shah Rukh before and seen his commitment and passion. However, the kind that I am seeing in Ra.One is unparalleled. The way he is going all out to make this film extra special is commendable. His passion is just so contagious," Rampal told PTI.
The 38-year-old reunites with Shah Rukh after working with him in superhits Om Shanti Om and Don and says that Ra.One is a very special film for him too.
The actor who enjoyed a good run in 2010 with Housefull, Raajneeti and We Are Family, went through a rigorous physical transformation to fit into the character of a villain with superpowers and concentrated on the film's shooting for weeks at stretch.
"Yes, it was physically a very demanding part. There was a certain level of fitness which was required on my part to make this character look extremely believable. Anubhav and Shah Rukh were clear that I had to stand out to make the overall film look great," said Rampal who had to go through three and a half months of training for Ra.One, though he is not complaining.
"It doesn't just happen overnight. There was an intensive training that I had to go through to become the character that goes with the film. I believe it was truly amazing to be going through this grill. It would be all worth it if the audience appreciates that as well," he said.
The first look of the film has already been unveiled and Rampal vouches for the fact that the scale and visual effects of Ra.One are the kind that match international standards.
"This is something that I can confidently state that Ra.One is the most ambitious film and expensive film that is being made out of India. The film is about superheroes and when you explore such a genre, you have to go all out to make it something special," said the actor.
Last time when Rampal and Shah Rukh came face to face, there were fireworks galore in Om Shanti Om. In Ra.One, it expected to be far more grand and deadly.
"I can promise though that you are going to see some great chemistry between the two characters which is much required in this film. In that context, there is a lot to offer," said the actor.
