Katrina turns editor for Shahrukh’s ‘Don 2’

t seems like the sexy Katrina Kaif wishes to try her hands at filmmaking now. The glamorous actress has already got herself involved in the production of Farhan Akhtar's 'Don 2'.

The actress, who always had a desire to be part of film production, recently got the opportunity to do some editing for the Shahrukh starrer 'Don2'.

After enjoying her stint in the creative process of filmmaking, Katrina stated, "I had always wanted to play a part, no matter how small, in the production of a film. When I used to look at Farhan, I wondered, he is the only director in the industry who is also an actor. Wow!

"Finally, a long standing wish of mine was answered as Farhan allowed me to edit a part, though a small one, in "Don 2". I am so thrilled."

Katrina to star in Prakash Jha's 'Satsang'
Filmmaker Prakash Jha is keen to make 'Satsang', after completing the Saif and Deepika starrer 'Aarakshan'.

Taking a cue from the latest reports, it's heard that Jha wants to cast Katrina as the protagonist in 'Satsang', as after working with her in 'Raajneeti' he is quite impressed with the actress's performance.

Talking about 'Satsang', a source stated, "When Jha announced Aarakshan last year, many were surprised that he went with Deepika Padukone instead of Katrina, especially since Kat had just delivered

On board bonding

If being confined to a small space, mid-air, in no-man's territory, can't make rivals patch-up, then nothing else will.  Ironically, it only took the estimated seven hour journey from Toronto to London to restore Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol's friendship that fizzled out 16 years ago.

The two stars were travelling together, on the same flight from Toronto to London, after attending a recent award function. Incidentally, both had planned a holiday in London. Their male bonding, reportedly, began at Toronto airport and just kept getting stronger while on-board.

An eyewitness told us, "Shah Rukh and Sunny even made a conscious effort to sit together on the flight. They were constantly seen chatting, sharing a lot of information about their work and families. By the time the aircraft landed, it was as if they never had a problem.

Everybody who knew them on the flight was pretty astonished because Shah Rukh and Sunny are both headstrong individuals, who don't forget and forgive easily."

This is a stark change from their attempted patch-up, two years ago, when director Subhash Ghai instructed them to shake hands (Mumbai Mirror, October 26, 2009). Reportedly, the tensions between Shah Rukh and Sunny began, 16 years ago, while they worked on the YRF production Darr (1993). Sunny played Juhi Chawla's husband and Shah Rukh essayed the role of the actress's obsessive stalker.

Sunny felt that his role was overshadowed by Shah Rukh and ever since then, the two actors have never seen eye-to-eye.  This issue then set the precedent for future filmmakers, who never cast SRK and Sunny in lead roles together.

A source explained, "Ghai had made them shake hands at a party two years ago but at that time, they still hadn't warmed up to each other. They only conversed with each other in the presence of Prasoon Joshi."

The eyewitness added, "Bobby Deol also joined them on the flight. Shah Rukh was very comfortable with Bobby as well. Now, it is clear that all is well between Shah Rukh and Sunny."

Shah Rukh Khan to undergo knee surgery in India

Shah Rukh Khan has chosen to get his knee surgery done in Mumbai instead of in the US, as he wants to keep a check on the ongoing promotion of his upcoming superhero flick Ra. One.

The promotional activities for the movie need him closer to the city and considering the ambitious actor and producer that he is, he doesn't want to be away from all the action. It is well known that SRK needs to undergo a knee surgery, which has been scheduled to take place in the last week of July.

According to sources, Dr Ali Irani who had earlier performed surgery on Shah Rukh's shoulder will lead the team of doctors who will decide on the surgery on his knee. Shah Rukh is in good hands as Dr Ali Irani is a specialist in sports medicine and was also the resident orthopedic for the Indian cricket team; he is also Sachin Tendulkar's personal medical consultant.

Andrew Leipus who is the official physiotherapist for the Kolkata Knight Riders is one of the specialist in Shah Rukh's physiotherapy team. It is expected that Shah Rukh will fully recover in a month's time following the surgery. Let's hope he recovers as soon as possible.

Shahrukh Khan meets Black Eyed Peas

Shahrukh Khan has a knack for making friends and acquaintances wherever he goes. Latest, he met the American hip-hop group 'Black Eyed Peas'.

"Met black eyed peas backstage with the kids. will i am & fergi were so gracious. their concert rocked...awesome. fergi said she has seen me act with the actress with light pretty eyes...my first concert...wot an initiation! loved it!" Shahrukh wrote on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

Shahrukh Khan is presently vacationing in London with his family. He is also giving his injured knee the much needed rest.

After the 'Black Eyed Peas' concert, Shahrukh felt envious of those who can sing.

"i really envy all who can sing. i believe the most personal gift of Allah to anyone alive is the ability to sing. so to all the singers (bathroom ones included) keep singing and make life your song," Shahrukh posted.

Well, if not a professional one, we're sure Shahrukh can be a bathroom crooner.

Doing nothing, and loving it: Shah Rukh

He is one of the busiest stars in Bollywood, so no wonder Shah Rukh Khan loves it when he does "nothing"!

"In the mode of doing nothing. sometimes listless...aimless...workless makes it the most satisfying experience of the day," Shah Rukh posted on his Twitter page.

"There is an Urdu line...jo kuch nahi karte woh kamaal karte hain (Those who don't do anything do wonders)...in London doing awesomely nothing," he added.

The actor has been busy shooting the last bits of his mega-budget home production "RA.One", and last week, he enthralled Bollywood fans in Toronto with his presence at the three-day International Indian Film Academy ( IIFA) Weekend and Awards.

SRK’s Filmi Future

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is as busy as ever, signing new projects and promoting home productions. In fact, he hasn't been getting much sleep due to the intense work being put in on his pet project Ra.One. Thankfully, his other productions are being taken care of, such as how Roshan Abbas has held the reigns for Always Kabhi Kabhi. This most recent SRK production release is about high school kids, sending SRK back to his own school day memories. His schooling at St. Columba's in Delhi was a very strict one, unlike the carefree filmi portrayals. "When I see Aryan and Suhana, I realize schools have become easier now. You couldn't be a badmaash (truant) in my school."

Shah Rukh has also signed on for Yash Chopra's next directorial venture. The film will be a romance co-starring both Katrina Kaif – her first time opposite SRK – and Anushka Sharma. Leave it to Yash Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan to bring love and romance back into Indian cinema. But would you believe it that SRK feels strange these days enacting romantic scenes? "Nowadays, I sometimes feel strange doing certain things I have done well in the past. I have to convince myself that I can still do this and pull it off."

If Yash Chopra's next isn't enough to get fans excited, there are several other projects in the works. Shah Rukh has been looking into the script of Xtrme City to be helmed by none other than Hollywood legend Martin Scorsese. "Yes, I met Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio in Berlin. They, including Paul Schrader, are very happy with the script. A few days ago, I sent them a mail saying that I'm going to read it, and we hope everything turns out well."

The other project that SRK is keen to sign – once work on Ra.One has finished – is Vishal Bharadwaj's Two States. At this point he is unsure who will be cast opposite him in the film, though names such as Asin and Priyanka Chopra have been making the rounds.

Of course the Baadshah's fans have a lot to look forward to at the end of this year with the release of both Ra.One and Don 2. "While Ra.One is very technically slick, Don 2 will be very tough, and I call it a macho film." And what about rumours about Ra.One's skyrocketing budget? "There might be a year when my big films don't do well, so I won't have money to produce smaller films. But if a big one like Om Shanti Om does well, I can produce Billu, which in a way did well for us in terms of money too. As long as I have that freedom, I will continue this way." SRK fans surely have no complaints to make with that!
