SRK: I am waiting for the Don 2 shoot to get over

Shah Rukh Khan

Even superstars have bad hair days.

When Shah Rukh Khan launched a documentary on K Asif's classic Mughal-e-Azam, he was obviously facing a hair crisis, thanks to his new Don 2 look.

"I respect women," Shah Rukh said. "I am suffering since the time I put on these (hair) extensions. Now I understand how tough it is for a woman to manage her hair. I respect them even more. I am waiting for the Don 2 shoot to get over to get rid of my messy look."

He also joked that she wanted to give him a bath. "The other day Suhana told me I looked very bad and desperately needed a bath! She was ready to give me one," he said.

SRK: I truly believe nobody hates me

'I truly believe nobody hates me,' Shahrukh Khan made this revelation on one of the episodes of Anupama Chopra's TV show 'Picture This'. The show has completed 200 episodes.

Anupama Chopra is thrilled to complete 200 episodes of 'Picture This'. Recounts from where it all started, she says 'It's hard to believe that the show has hit the 200 mark. I remember the first, Picture This episode so clearly - the first film I reviewed for television was Maniratnam's GURU. They didn't have a press show so I saw it in the morning, wrote the review in the car, rushed to the studio and shot my first show. I was a comically bad anchor. My eyes we're moving all over the place and even my children seemed a little embarrassed by what I had done.'

She further adds, 'Thankfully the show has come a long way since then. In the second year, we went international. We've done specials out of festivals like Cannes and Toronto and featured A-list cinema talent including stars like Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, Jackie Chan and Russell Crowe and directors like Steven Soderbergh, Werner Herzog and Mike Leigh. Picture This is a celebration of the movies. It's a show by film lovers for film lovers. I hope to make it better with every episode, every year.'

Anupama shares a personal equation with most celebrities who come on the show. This makes their conversation more personal and they talk light heartedly and comfortably. The share an extra bit which usually would have gone under radar.

Shah Rukh’s blast from the past

His dad was a pathan in 'Mughal-E-Azam', but here is why the classic really matters

Shah Rukh's blast from the past

His dad was a pathan in 'Mughal-E-Azam', but here is why the classic really matters

Shah Rukh Khan (AGENCIES)

As Shah Rukh Khan lends his support to a documentary on preserving magnum opus 'Mughal-E-Azam', he is overwhelmed by the need to conserve our filmographic past.

"This documentary is a tribute to the ace filmmaker K Asif saab. His family members have taken the trouble of preserving this classic film and I have done my bit by lending my support to 'Mughal-E-Azam'," says Shah Rukh. The star believes it is an important task. "It becomes very difficult to preserve such classics but we need to do so from time to time. I can understand how great an effort it must have been for the family to recreate 'MEA' in colour," he adds. The documentary aims not at monetary gain, but to showcase the efforts associated with redoing 'Mughal-E-Azam', and to keep the memory of the film alive.

Shah Rukh appeals filmmakers to come forward with more such efforts. "Personally, I hope to and I also request others to make such documentaries so that we can preserve more classic films, which will otherwise die out for the lack of funds. We are now in the digital age and we have the ability to preserve them. 'Mughal-E-Azam' is the mother of all films and such iconic classics cannot be remade," says Shah Rukh as he adds, "The documentary was not made as a piece of art but as an inspiration to people in showbiz about the need to preserve classics which are part of our own history."

Despite remakes being the flavour of the day, Shah Rukh believes classics are best left loved in their original state. "Remaking classics is not the answer," he admits. A film like 'Mughal-E-Azam' can never be remade, he says. "This film is the mother of all films and a mother is always original – one cannot remake a mother. Whenever I am tired, or I fail in my mission or face obstacles coming my way, I watch these films to refresh me," pointing out that though many movies made with a similar theme have achieved success, yet, 'Mughal-E-Azam' still remains the epitome of Indian cinema. "Some movies cannot be touched and this is one of them.

The originality, passion of the filmmaker is so much evident in 'Mughal-E-Azam', that it cannot be recreated during a remake," says Shah Rukh.

The film, he says, inspires him as a producer, "Whenever I am confronted with hurdles as a producer, I think of 'MEA', which experienced several obstacles but was made without compromising on the passion of filmmaking." Amongst his favourite dialogues in the film include Emperor Akbar's "Salim tumhe marne nahi dega aur Anarkali, hum tumhe jeene nahi denge" while his favourite number is, 'Jab Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya'.

Ask him if he ever sang this number for Gauri and he blushes, "No, I did not sing this number for Gauri – she was too small then."

Beyond remakes and into the sequel of a remake himself, Shah Rukh sports his new-look long hair for 'Don 2'. "I admire women for carrying off long hair so gracefully. For me, this is really painful. I am waiting for the shooting to end," he says. On a lighter note he adds, "I really give 100 percent to women who keep such long hair and how they maintain it. I toh am fed up keeping this length. It is really very difficult to maintain it."

The subject leads him to discuss the women he looks up to, and he adds, "I respect women a lot. I respect my mother the most. She worked like a soldier for the family. She did her duties even without asking for the returns." His mother was a great fan of 'Mughal-E-Azam' herself. "When I was young, my mother, who was a great fan of Dilip Kumar, used to often put her hand on my head and say I look like Dilip Kumar. I didn't know him then, but I used to watch his films. I had watched 'Mughal-E-Azam' then but never understood the film. Now I realise what a great film it was," he says.

The film has even more memories for the superstar. Not many know that Shah Rukh's father was a part of 'Mughal-E-Azam'. "My father was chosen because he was a pathan. I revered Dilip Kumar, but I never imagined I would ever meet him. When I became an actor and went to meet him the first time, he said that I remind him of his childhood. Every time I meet Dilip saab and Sairaji I get tears in my eyes. They are such great personalities," says King Khan.

Would he ever compare his films to 'Mughal-E-Azam'? "I am too small an actor to compare my films with such legendary filmmakers and actors but yes, 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' can be added to their lineage," he says. But why a film like 'Mughal-E-Azam' outshines any other, he says, is, "The attraction and the beauty that remained intact even after five decades. We still watch the movie in awe and admiration, and this has to be passed on to generation after generation."

Mughal-e-Azam inspires Shahrukh Khan as a Producer

Shahrukh Khan produced Mughal-e-Azam documentary because this epic drama inspires him as a producer. Recently a documentary was made on the larger than life film Mughal-e-Azam and it was SRK's production house Red Chilies that produced the film.

The idea of preserving the epic drama came to the Superstar's head was when he was having a conversation with the Hollywood superstar Martin Scorsese last year at the Berlin Film Festival where My Name is Khan was screened. That conversation got Shahrukh Khan thinking and the idea of the preservation of the epic drama was born.

What added fuel to the fire was the fact that Martin wanted to preserve some Indian cinema as well and this got SRK thinking about his responsibilities as a cinema person and hat contribution he was making towards maintaining good cinema and films that are films of the highest order.

Bollywood Khan ‘wants Lady Gaga for RA.ONE’

Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly keen on working with Lady Gaga in his upcoming sci-fi fantasy film Ra.One.

According to Mid Day, the 45-year-old Bollywood superstar has asked Akon to persuade the 'Born This Way' singer to do a music video for the film.

A source told the newspaper: "If she agrees to do Ra.One it would be a huge asset for the film. Akon has already bounced the idea to GaGa's management and her team. While she's touring right now, there's a possibility that Shah Rukh might have a meeting with her in coming weeks."

And blessing the lovely couple were a host of their friends and well-wishers right from politicos and business honchos to B-town beauties. Welcoming the guests was the bride's uncle Venugopal Dhoot. There was Shah Rukh Khan, sporting a brand new look, who was busy chatting with Praful Patel.

Yash Chopra was accompanied by wife Pam while Sonam Kapoor, wearing a rather interesting ensemble, walked in with mom Sunita. Poonam Dhillon was positively glowing in an orange saree as was Bhagyashree in her intricately embroidered off-white one.

Boney Kapoor and Sridevi, in a royal purple anarkali, Yukta Mookhey and hubby Prince Tuli and Shekhar and Alka Suman were some of the other couples present here. Also wishing the newly weds were Cyrus Poonawala, Niranjan Hiranandani, Pritish Nandy, Prasoon Joshi, Harsh Goenka, Jag Mundra, Anu Malik, Rohit Roy, Arjan Bajwa, Gopinath Munde and Rajpal Yadav.

SRK gets tattooed for Deepika

The 'D' tattoo on SRK's arm have got people thinking...

Saif Ali Khan may have inked Kareena on his arm, but the latest one to be showing off his love is Shah Rukh Khan who has been sporting a prominent 'D' tattoo on his forearm these days. This has got one and all speculating. He is constantly being asked whom the daring 'D' is for, and SRK at his wittiest best, replies "It's for Deepika Padukone!"

Of course, Deepika has reason enough to be flattered. However, the 'D' denotes SRK's love for 'Don 2'. His character in the 'Don' sequel has 'D' tattooed on his arm. And the 'D' is meant to denote Don!

The tattoo is obviously not a permanent one, but Shah Rukh says he likes it, although a permanent tattoo is not a part of his to-do list right now! However, most of his contemporaries like Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal have permanent tattoos showing off their love and faith, but SRK likes to keep it clean.

'Don 2' follows SRK's character into a different adventure: Farhan

Q. How has life been lately?

Hectic. Everything is going great. 2010 just swished by. It was an exhausting year. I am hoping that all the hard work pays off this year. Fortunately, my wife and daughters could join me during my long schedules in Spain (for 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara') and Berlin ('Don 2').

Q. Do you get to spend enough time with your daughters?

How do you define 'enough'? They're happy children. The older one is a lot aware of what I do. She has begun to understand what I do. As of now she's more reactive to the music in my cinema. Even the younger one loves the 'Rock On' music. Now both my daughters are into the music of Zoya's 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'.

Q. How was the long first schedule of 'Don 2-The Chase Continues' in Berlin?

I haven't really figured out the full title. As of now it's just 'Don 2'. It follows Shah Rukh's character into a different adventure. Yes, the character has grown.

Q. Will there be a 'Don 3'?

Yes, why not? Let's see. I do enjoy making 'Don'. Right now I'm just happy creating a whole new story for this character. It's a big challenge for me. We are 60 percent done with 'Don'.

Q. Is it more action-oriented than the first 'Don'?

I don't know how to answer that. There was action in that one, there's action in this one. I hate saying things like, 'You've never seen anything like this before.' Yeah there are action sequences where Don being Don is up to no good.

Q. What was your equation like with Shah Rukh this time?

I feel in terms of his real-life personality Don, suits Shah Rukh to the hilt. In real life too there's a certain flamboyance and magnetism about Shah Rukh. He brings these qualities effortlessly to the part. Also, like me, he has great respect and love for the original Don (featuring Amitabh Bachchan). At the same time he gives the character his own spin. In the second 'Don' we've taken some of the essence of what Shah Rukh did in the first 'Don'. But we've also given him some new things to do.

Q. You wear so many hats. Are comfortable with all your roles?

I guess. I've no regrets about any of my roles. It's been more than two years since my acting debut in 'Rock On'. Its impact lingers. However, I genuinely feel my dad (Javed Akhtar) did not get enough credit for the lyrics he wrote in 'Rock On'. After such a long time these were songs that were so non-situational. Without any reference point he wrote lyrics that were so contagious and identifiable...Of course everyone loved the music of 'Rock On'. But my dad's calibre of writing in the songs didn't get its due.

Q. In 2010 you were directed by your sister Zoya in 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. How was the experience?

Yeah, all of us - Zoya, Hrithik, Abhay, Katrina, Kalki and me became this little commune travelling across Spain. We travelled a lot. Spain has everything from beaches to mountains. So far only Bollywood songs have been shot in Spain. There's a serious change in topography as you drive through. The important thing was for us to look like we belong to one group.

Q. 'ZNMD' looks like the last part of your trilogy on male bonding after 'Dil Chahta Hai' and 'Rock On'?

Funny, you say that. And why the last? No, I don't have any major fascination with cinema on male bonding. 'Dil Chahta Hai' is the only script I wrote on the theme. Gattu (Abhishek Kapoor) wrote 'Rock On' a fab script about a rock band. Zoya's script for 'ZNMD' is about three guys on the verge of making commitments in life.

Q. How was it being directing by your sister a second time?

In Zoya's 'Luck By Chance', I was a sneaky social climber. In 'ZNMD' it's a sea-change. I play this guy who for the longest time takes nothing seriously. I am not even rich and I don't pretend to be. I'm just happy being the way I am. I got to just let my hair down. Many moments in this film gave me a chance to have lots of fun. After 'Rock On', 'Luck By Chance' and 'Karthik Calling Karthik' which were all serious angst-laden characters in 'ZNMD' I play a fun character.

Q. So you had fun doing the film?

Not just me. All of us. It was the nature of the script. There was so much improvisation. There was only so much that could be put on paper. So yeah we did improvise. We participated in the Tomatino festival in Spain.

Q. And a bull fight?

Let me clarify that once and for all. There's no bullfight in 'ZNMD'. We had animal-rights organizations questioning us about it. We sent them a letter saying there was no such thing. We did participate in a Running With The Bulls festival. No bulls got injured in that. We shot it in a completely controlled environment. We plan to release it at the end of May.

Q. Reema Kagti's film starring Aamir Khan which you are producing must be very expensive considering Mr Khan doesn't come cheap?

No, it's not that expensive. It's a very straightforward thriller. It doesn't demand an expensive treatment. The final cast is Aamir, Kareena and Rani. And we have a host of other good actors in other roles.

Q. What about your singing?

All three of us Hrithik, Abhay and I, have sung in 'ZNMD'. It's a party situation. It seemed interesting to lend our own voices to our characters. It's turned out really really well. I am very excited. That's the only song I've sung in a movie this year. Otherwise I am constantly singing in real life. I was singing before this interview. I'll be singing after we're done.

Q. Why not? You get so many offers including one from A R Rahman.

It's not because I am possessive about my voice. I don't know if my voice will work on anyone else. I feel my singing adds to my performances. I don't know if it would add to other actors' performances. In 'Karthik Calling Karthik', I didn't see my singing adding to my character, so I didn't. If I feel really kicked about singing for someone else, I will. Singing is not a profession for me. As of now I'll sing only for myself.

Q. Do you also look into the individual productions that emerge from your banner, or do you leave that to your partner Ritesh Sidhwani?

Ritesh deals with the day-to-day decisions. But the larger decisions, we sit and discuss. Our formula for success? To focus relentlessly on telling a good story. To me that's really important. People remember a good story. Filmmaking begins for me with finding a good story.

Shah Rukh Khan in prison!

Here's looking at the Don in a Malaysian jail

The long hands of the law have finally caught up and landed the most wanted man in prison. Here's a first look at Shah Rukh Khan in the Malaysia schedule of Don 2.

The star has been currently filming for the sequel in Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi.

Shah Rukh Khan shooting for Don 2 in Malaysia

Says a unit source, "The sequences being filmed have the cops tail him and arrest the Don. This has left his folks bewildered as they firmly believed in his dictum: "Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi namumkim hai."

Ace up his sleeve?

Adds the source, "Obviously, there is an ace up his sleeve because the Don has already masterminded a prison break."

SRK who shot with several local Malaysian artistes had to indulge in a lot of physically taxing sequences.

He had to take on the inmates of the jail those who dared to question how he landed up behind the high walls.
King Khan is joined by co-stars Priyanka Chopra and Boman Irani for the schedule.

The star, who sports a special hairdo for his jail sequence, has been getting muddy and dirty as he packs punches with the inmates.

Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar (who is also directing the flick), the movie is slated for a December release.

Don 'SRK' caught in Malaysia!

Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahin...namunkin hai' is something everyone in Bollywood believes.

Naturally, it was shocking for TOI to discover that Shah Rukh Khan, who is reprising his Don avatar was actually spending time in a Malaysian jail. Hello, what just happened here? We're wondering how SRK landed in jail. His motive remains unexplained and even the filmmakers of Don 2, Excel Entertainment Pvt Ltd are not divulging any further details.

Jailbird or otherwise, SRK with his long dishevelled locks and a lean sculpted body looks terrific. Of course, his incarceration comes as a rude shock. Perhaps even this has some hidden logic. As the adage goes — Whatever Don does, he does for a reason.

This thriller is due on Christmas. We'll have to wait until then to know how the Don landed himself in this spot.

SRK goes off from Twitter?

Scuttlebutt has it that the King Khan is in no mood to return back to the micro-blogging site Twitter contemplating the nutty comments posted by a bevy of people on his posts.

Indeed, some anti-SRK fans are using such mediums to lay bare their thoughts about him by using absurd language.

This has probably hurt the Baadshah of Bollywood, and consequently, his frequency of posting the messages has also reduced.

With a fan following of more than 7,86,100, Shahrukh's last tweet was on Jan. 2, 2011, which read, "Am glad everyone seems to like the G.ONE look....the next level will be to reveal the powers...thanx to videocon & eros international."

Latest reports reveal that the channel in question, for whom SRK is hosting a reality game show, is requesting him to become active again on the social networking sites, and SRK is in no mood to make a comeback.

SRK to release a documentary on 'Mughal-e-Azam'
The heartthrob of many, Shahrukh Khan, will soon be seen releasing a 40 minute documentary on his all time favorite film, 'Mughal-e-Azam', directed by K. Asif.

'Mughal-e-Azam', a 1960s Indian epic film, featuring Madhubala, Dilip Kumar and Prithviraj Kapoor.

The idea of making the documentary was finalised when K. Asif's son Akhbar Asif shared with SRK, his idea of paying tribute to his father. And the King Khan immediately said "yes".

SRK is berserk over this marvelous film so much so that he owns a camera with which 'Mughal-e-Azam' was shot in the 60s.

Titled as the 'Mughal-e-Azam- A tribute by a son to his father', the documentary has been produced by Red Chillies Entertainment.

Interestingly, SRK has lent his voice in this 40 minute documentary, which contains all the information about the classic, and the opinions of the B-town stars about the film, put together by Devan Munjal.

Bollywood SRK to sign Dabangg director, Salman furious

It seems SRK is so impressed with rival Salman Khan's Dabangg that he wants to re-create the magic of the movie by signing its director Abhinav Kashyap. If rumours are to be believed SRK had a secret meeting with the filmmaker and the news has not gone down well with Salman.

Salman Khan who had earlier decided to bury all the differences with Abhinav and was about to sign him for the sequel of Dabangg, has now reportedly decided against it.

If grapevine is to be believed, Salman's brother Sohail Khan, who directed Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya might takeover the project as a director.

If that was not enough, even Aamir Khan is keen on working with Abhinav Kashyap. Aamir and Abhinav have worked earlier on few ads.

Well, now it remains to be seen who'll be the next Dabangg in Abhinav's film.

Shahrukh Khan: Will 2011 be the King Khan’s year?

The competition is mostly between Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan for the crown of the biggest B-town actor. While Salman shall be coming up with 'Ready' and 'Bodyguard' and Aamir with a Reema Kagti suspense film, the Bollywood Badshah aka Shahrukh Khan has two films lined up for a 2011 release.

Shahrukh's last big release was way back in the early 2010 in the form of Karan Johar's 'My Name is Khan' that brought him quite a few trophies for the Best Actor.

SRK shall be dishing out two of his most awaited releases this year- 'Ra.one' and 'Don 2'. 'Ra.One' is in the news for quite a few months and though not much is known about the film's basic plot, what is known is that SRK shall be seen in the avatar of a superhero in this flick. He shall have some superhuman powers including that of solidifying electricity. Kareena Kapoor is the female lead of the film but it is clear that it belongs mostly to SRK.

'Don 2' is currently in the pipeline with the shooting going in Malaysia. Since the directorial reins are in the hands of the deft Farhan Akhtar we can be assured of the quality of this action caper. Those who have watched 2006's 'Don' and loved Shahrukh reprising Amitabh Bachchan's classic character can look forward to the end of this year for a promising sequel.

In short, Shahrukh is all set to rock this year. After a long hibernation, 2011 shall be pretty good for his fans and devotees.

SRK's documentary on Mughal-E-Azam

On the first floor of Shah Rukh Khan's house Mannat, lies something he wouldn't trade for gold. It's a film camera.

Not too many people know that the actor owns the original camera on which his favourite film Mughal-E-Azam (1960) was shot. Khan is a self-proclaimed fan of the classic and has now finished making a documentary on it.

SRK has always been in awe of K. Asif's direction in the film. Not only has Khan produced the film under his banner Red Chilies, he has also played the sutradhaar of this documentary.

A source from the production house said, "SRK is a huge fan of the film. He is extremely close to K. Asif's son Akbar Asif, who resides in London. Every time they meet, they have long discussions over the film."

During one of these discussions, Akbar Asif apparently expressed the desire to pay a tribute to his father and make a documentary on the classic.

SRK immediately told him that he loved the idea and that he would produce it for him. SRK also volunteered to be an anchor for the documentary.

No social networking for SRK

All efforts were being made by the channel for which Shah Rukh Khan is hosting a reality game show that SRK makes a comeback on the net. However, those plans have tanked.

SRK had gone off his social network following abusive language against him by a couple of people who were using the net space to give vent to their personal vendetta against him.

SRK was very hurt and he decided to call it quits. Now, despite the channel trying their level best to coax the superstar to stage a comeback, SRK is in no mood to enter the dodgy domain.

Shah Rukh Khan copies Priyanka

SRK will bring seven of his most popular characters to life alongside Priyanka Chopra on Zor Ka Jhatka.

Last time you saw him in a double role on the game show Zor Ka Jhatka where he brought to life two of his memorable characters – Raj and Surinder Sahni. This time Shah Rukh Khan is going five steps ahead and will be playing seven of his popular characters on Zor Ka Jhatka .

For tomorrow's episode, Shahrukh will host the show in a unique way donning the roles of his seven most adored screen characters. In this special episode, Shahrukh Khan will have dazzling diva, Priyanka Chopra, whose film Saat Khoon Maaf is up for release.

Shahrukh will enthrall audiences as he plays his seven most popular characters including Raj from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge , Rahul from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai , Deva from Devdas , Rahul Mehra from Darr , Raj Aryan from Mohobbatein , Om from Om Shanti Om and Don. Priyanka Chopra will join in the merriment and enjoy the participants' hilarious falls while jumping over moving obstacles, bouncing off big balls and dodging swinging pendulums.

While Priyanka kills all her seven husbands in the film Saat Khoon Maaf , we wonder if Shah Rukh Khan in his seven avatars could survive the sexy jhatkas of Priyanka Chopra.

Shah Rukh Khan has always maintained that Ra.One is close to his heart.

Shahrukh Khan To Shoot Don 2 In Melaka

MELAKA, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- "Yes, I promised the last time to be back here and shoot a movie and I am now here," said Bollywood sensation Shahrukh Khan.

Bestowed a "Datukship" by the Melaka State Government during his last visit here in Dec 2008, Shahrukh is in town to shoot his new movie "Don 2", a sequel of his "Don: The Chase Begins" which was released in 2006.

"We began shooting few days ago and I will be here for another two or three days to film the beginning part of the film," he told reporters at a secret location in Sungai Udang, here Tuesday.

Also present was Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam, his wife Datin Seri Asmah Abdul Rahman and the two producers of the film, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar.

Farhan who was the producer of the first movie is also the director for Don 2, a film which is due to be released to 32 countries worldwide this December.

Shahrukh said the new film will be more slick and technically savvy as compared with the first one (Don).

"This is an action movie like "The James Bond" or "Bourne Identity" genre which will appeal to boys rather than girls," said Shahrukh who wore a white t-shirt and bright orange pant, with an unfamiliar pony tail hair to suit his character in the film.

Shahrukh, 45, looking thinner than before was in a jovial mood, cracking jokes at reporters that he missed Priyanka Chopra, the leading lady in the film who was not present since she had to return to India to promote her new film.

He said his role in the film was just like the first movie, playing a bad guy, "fooling" around with a lot of people and getting the job done.

"Just like my character in real life," he said with a sense of humour.

SRK To Do An Item Number?

Shahrukh Khan, who had surprised everyone with his six-pack revealing performance in the song 'Dard-E-Disco', will reportedly do another item number for his upcoming home-production 'Always Kabhi Kabhi'.

Directed by debutante Roshan Abbas, 'Always Kabhi Kabhi', which is produced by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment, is based on the theme of high-school life.

"There is one item song in the film with all four lead actors and an extremely popular star. Just wait and watch," Abbas said.

There is a buzz in the B-town that King Khan will be seen flaunting his body again.

Four years ago, Shah Rukh's six-pack abs grabbed eyeballs as he went topless for Farah Khan's 'Om Shanti Om' to perform the number 'Dard-E-Disco' that became an instant hit.

"There is a demand for item songs now, last year we saw 'Munni Badnam' and 'Sheila Ki Jawani' sweeping awards, and they became popular. Item songs are a good marketing tool for a film," Abbas said.

SRK had also done an item number for Hrithik Roshan's home-production 'Krazzy 4' and Karan Johar's 'Kaal'.

'Always Kabhi Kabhi' will see four debutantes - Producer Karim Morani's daughter Zoa and Giselle Monterio, who played Harleen alongside Saif Ali Khan in 'Love Aaj Kal', Satyajit Dubey and Ali Fazal.

One would have imagined only women are crazy about Shah Rukh Khan. It appears that even the men are smitten by him.

Director Rohit Shetty, who believes that Diwali is lucky for him and invariably has a release on that date (the Golmaal series, All the Best), was originally planning to bring his Bol Bachchan on Diwali this year. However, when he realised that his current favourite SRK is coming out with RA.One on Diwali, Rohit quietly postponed his film to a later date.

Says a trade source, "Rohit is going to be working with SRK on the Angoor remake in 2012. So he is ready to bend backwards to please the Badshah of Bollywood. Besides the G-3 director is said to be floored by SRK's charm."

SRK: Who has a better collection of cars?

They were the best of pals a decade ago but today, they can't stand each other, which has indeed resulted into the split of Bollywood in two banners: Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. But what still binds them is their love for cars and the class-apart collection they own. We bring you a low-down of who has a better collection from the two.

Let's begin our countdown with the king of romance and Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan who drives millions of us crazy. He owned a Maruti Van in his school days, but SRK has come a long way with his set of wheels for he now has the best of beauties parked in his garage. He is a proud owner of multiple luxury cars including likes of the Mitsubishi Pajero, Audi, BMW and Rolls Royce.

Though he has been endorsing the brand Hyundai since last 2 decades, in real life he is fond of BMW series of cars. His standout fleet of foreign luxury cars includes some of the most expensive BMW cars in the world including the BMW 7 Series (costs more than Rs 1.25 crore) and the 6 Series (Rs 85 lakh). Besides this, he owns a super luxury sedan the Audi A6, a Land Cruiser, a blue Rolls Royce, a white Conti GT and a white BMW convertible.

It is also rumoured that this Bollywood Badshah is all set to get his hands on the ultimate dream machine and worlds fastest, the Bugatti Veyron in his next flick, Ra One. Wonder if he'll add the Bugatti to his collection too?

Not only is he a big car enthusiast, but is also known for gifting his loved ones expensive luxury cars. Shah Rukh recently gifted his kids Aryan and Suhana, a brand new Audi A6, starting price for which is Rs. 38 lakh. Before this, SRK had gifted a white coloured Mercedes Benz S350 to his film-director friend Farah Khan after the huge success of his film Om Shanti Om.

Moving on into the garage of our controversy king, Salman Khan, this Khan owns some of the most premium luxuries. Salman loves his cars, especially BMW's; he's got four of them! Salman's luxury car collection also includes a Lexus, a Land Cruiser and a Mercedes-Benz. He also purchased an Audi A8 recently that ranges from Rs. 71 lakh to Rs. 1 crore in India.

Looking at the luxurious collection both these superstars' posses, their common love for BMW's and premium cars, it's really difficult to announce who has a better collection. Guess we'll leave that you!

City boy in SRK’s next

Delhi boy Haarsh Nagar, 21, will be seen playing the lead in actor Shah Rukh Khan's next home production, Always Kabhi Kabhi. Shot and based in Delhi, the film is a high school musical with an element of social networking website, Facebook, thrown in. "We shot around the AIIMS area and at
a few shops in Delhi. It is a very young film and while it has Facebook in it, it is not on the lines of The Social Network," says Nagar.

So how was it to work with King Khan? "He is very encouraging and has a great sense of humour. We were dressed in a funny way for a certain scene and he even imitated us. And, it is great if your producer is also an actor, because he understands everything," says the boy from Jor Bagh.

Nagar's father, Bharat Nagar is the legal advisor to actor Amitabh Bachchan, so the industry was not completely new to him. "I like acting. After my boards, I went to Mumbai to study acting.

Helmed by Roshan Abbas, the film also stars Karim Mornai's daughter Zoa and Giselle Monteiro, who played Harleen in Love Aaj Kal. SRK will feature in an item number in the movie.

Shah Rukh Khan’s postponed Muscat show now to be held on March 31

Bollywood superstar Rukh Khan's show, which was postponed earlier, would now reportedly be held at a sports stadium in Muscat on March 31.

The show was scheduled to take place on February 17 at the Qurum Amphitheatre as part of the Muscat Festival, Gulf news reports.

According to Rajesh Raman of Roar Entertainment, the show was postponed because of "certain commitments of artists."

"It is still part of Muscat Festival and had to be put off due to certain commitment of artists. Shah Rukh is a global brand and we are expecting over 25,000 people to turn up for the show," Raman said.

Three event management companies and a local radio station would jointly organise the shoe, which according to Raman would be the biggest entertainment event ever held in Oman.

SRK's sleepless nights

That SRK's a good actor is no new news (the awards speak for themselves) but he's no less of a juggler, either!

Shah Rukh's juggling between his many brand endorsements, show rehearsals, film schedules and pulling through 22-hour long shooting schedules. He's shooting all day for brand endorsements, and all night for Don 2, which leaves him with couple for hours to hit the sack. Add to it, the wedding receptions, premiers, parties and the unforgettable one-liners that he keeps dropping which makes headlines.

Well, we're glad that amidst all this madness, this Khan atleast has a sense of humor, one which leaves us all in splits. And we think the lovely Gauri will definitely agree that...iss Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi, namumkin hai...

Watch: SRK gets a 'Zor Ka Jhatka' in TRPs

- Zor Ka Jhatka fails to impress: Shah Rukh Khan returned to television this month with the show Zor Ka Jhatka on Imagine TV. Though Imagine TV spent a lot of money promoting the new show with Shah Rukh Khan as its main draw, opening week ratings averaged at 2.6 - that's lower than Rakhi Ka Swayamwar, which opened with of 4.1 and a lot lower than Shah Rukh Khan's previous shows Kaun Banega Crorepati and Kya Aap Paanchi Paas Se Tez Hain. Animesh Das reports that though the numbers are low Imagine claims it has tapped into a new audience.
